Cenote

Cenote

from 65.00

A cenote is a natural swimming hole formed by the collapse of porous limestone bedrock, which reveals a secret subterranean world of groundwater pools. In Mexico, the Maya used to sacrifice objects into the cenote as a form of worship to the Maya rain god Chaac. At the bottom of many cenotes you will find gold, jade, pottery, and incense.
